Vismayas Max creates animated book trailer

Team Vismayas is on a high. They have forayed into untrodden tracks by creating an animated book trailer for British author and screenplay writer Joanne Reay, which caught much attention at the just-concluded London Book Fair.
‘Lo’Life’, the supernatural trilogy from Joanne Reay, is one of the most anticipated series which is to hit book stores this year. Vismayas Max Animation, actor Mohanlal’s own studio in the city, has created the trailer for its first part - ‘Romeo Spikes’, which would be out from the stable of Beautiful Books this October.
The trailer has been named ‘Lola’, based on one of the main characters in the novel.  Joanne had walked into the office of Vismayas one day and after going through the various animation works done by Team Vismayas handed them the task of creating a book trailer.
"The trend of book trailers is yet to catch up in India. So, we worked on the storyboard and the characters day and night and created ‘Lola’. Joanne had asked us to perform magic and we did just that," says Vinod Malachira, who is the Project Coordinator, Vismayas.
The story revolves around human beings who have been forced to dwell in a middle space between heaven and hell. They are targeted by Tormentas, who are sent from the Lo’Worlds, who are meant to guide them to their deaths. The trailer has been created with apt music and narration, done by European composer Nicky Matthew and Hollywood actress Brodie Fitzpatrick respectively.
The creative direction of the trailer has been done by Vismayas Creative Head K D Shybu. The storyboard has been worked upon by Deepak S Raj. Vismayas comic book specialist Kalesh Karunakar has lent wings to the characters, while Bipin Krishna and Shibith Kotoor have given the background and colour schemes. The composing has been done by Praveen M S And Jibin Surendran.
On seeing the trailer getting rave reviews at the London Book Fair, Joanne has now extended another offer, which has taken Team Vismayas to cloud nine. Talks are on between Joanne and Vismayas to do Joanne’s next Hollywood project,  ‘Shivering Kings’. Team Vismayas, if the talks take off, might do the pre-production works of the film.
Joanne Reay has to her credit various films which she scripted, including ‘Against All Odds’, ‘The Murder Rooms’ and ‘Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis’.
